They tried w/ those Jeezy tickets, but that was weak. I agree as far as the voters. What’s scary is the voting base is in their last years. Right now I see New Detroit taking political control while majority Detroit is living their lives disconnected, surviving, and scrambling for a piece of the pie

This feels like a great place to bring up Watershed Democracy, the idea that we should rearrange the divisions of government along the literal lay of the land, with the equivalent to "states" perhaps being the major Water Resource Regions and further divisions being the sub-regions within those.

This is the most accurate depiction I’ve seen as well. Great Plains/agricultural Midwest and Great Lakes/industrial Midwest are unique but they’re often lumped together.

There’s actual principled reasons for Detroiters being sensitive about who and what claims Detroit. Even white Detroiters take issue with it.

Detroit most definitely does this.

I’ve always had an issue about which parts of the country our people go to when they come to the U.S. Maybe some of that is just we are concentrated in poor areas and they place them where they can do better economically? idk.

Reminds me of when some cats from West Africa first came to Detroit and were shocked to see so many Black people. Whoever brought them here had them in some small Michigan town in the middle of nowhere.
