Lots of purists whine that Welles's protest songs lack the nuance and sophistication of Bob Dylan's protest songs. To those critics, I submit the fact that the Trump administration lacks the nuance and sophistication of the Nixon administration.

While Christmas shopping at 1/2 Price Books, I realized that I NEVER READ FAHRENHEIT 451. And I call myself a Bradbury fan. Oversight currently being corrected.

The letdown after finishing a manuscript. The hopeless feeling that it's not good enough, and never will be. Starting a rewrite, knowing it will need professional editing. Spending significant sums to fix it just so I can fail anyway? Why bother. Back at it tomorrow, regardless. Need dopamine.

Inspired by @wiswell.bsky.social ‘s amazing Somebody You Can Build a Nest In, I decided to try my hand at an uncanny cozy romantasy for November. Progress reports forthcoming as word count grows:

We have a great horned owl living in our trees somewhere, and when I went out to blow these out last night, he “Who-OO who who”-ed at me right overhead. It was very Halloweeny.

Aw. I just found out NaNoWriMo is dead. The first novel I ever completed was a NaNoWriMo baby.

I also just found out they accepted generative AI submissions last year. So… yeah.

NaNoWriMo is dead.

#reedsyNovelSprint looks cool.

There’s been a flock of turkeys in my yard the past few days. They seem to be circling the house. Are they casing the joint? Performing an arcane ritual?

Side note: I made panini sandwiches for dinner tonight. Ham and turkey. Keeping an eye out for pigs.

I'm pumpkin lost
We're getting into pumpkin talks
Now I'm going online to check my pumpkin stocks”
