so many carers to be recruited from abroad. And as anyone who visits a hospital in South Wales will witness is staffed by a substantial percentage of immigrants to care for the vast majority of white Welsh/British patients. Without proper investment in these communities will continue to decline.

chronic levels of poverty and poor educational attainment which allow ill health to fester leaving large numbers on long term sickness benefits. Cutting benefits and immigration will do nothing to help these communities, in fact it will make things worse, especially as the social care sector needs

The largest groups came from Poland, Romania, Ireland, South Africa and India. These figures were recorded before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which later brought about 130 refugees to the borough.

The small boats mantra is utter bollocks in these communities. It’s years of underinvestment,

have incredibly low numbers of immigrants. According to the 2021 Census, foreign-born residents made up just 2.9% of Caerphilly’s population — 5,193 people out of 175,952. This is the lowest out of Wales’ 22 local authorities.

The whole “immigration is a problem” shtick being bellowed by Reform, echoed by the tories and squeaked by Labour can be shown as demonstrably false in communities like Caerau, Tylorstown and Caerffili. All 3 are in the top 5 council wards in the deprivation index (out of 1905 across Wales). All 3

under the current first past the post voting system Reform could have a majority in Westminster with just over 1 in 4 supporting them that's 73% opposing them. People who support Reform deserve representation just as all other voters deserve it. Make it fair, make every vote count. We need PR.

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead.

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester
