trying out a technique I heard about where pockets are done before canvasing, and passed through a cut, which both minimizes the hole in the canvas and minimizes bulk in the pocket seams

I don't like how Chipotle has started making all dine-in orders as to-go orders, so I'm opening my own Chipotle in my kitchen that serves things in reusable baskets as god intended

this is what it looks like writing a test of a private method in C#. Do you see how stupid this is? We're demolishing all the type-checking stuff we actually do use, in order to use a feature that actually doesn't matter to us at all

extremely funny admission here that the outlet stores were always basically fake, they were manufacturing merchandise specifically for the purpose of selling in outlet stores bsky.app/profile/cnn....

I think a lot of people are dismissive of these because they associate them with seniors, but they are highly effective and literally everyone should be using one for any drug or supplement they take

it's funny how the modern US metaphorical meaning of "commander-in-chief" has propagated backwards but this isn't accurate, UK had a separate military rank called "commander-in-chief" separate from the King at the time the constitution was signed, and this is what the founders meant.

verdict: they taste literally identical. You can see that the bean version (right) came out a little thicker but I'm sure that's just due to cook time, they taste the same.

these are both store brand but from different stores the beans cost $37 at Dorothy Lane Market for two (2) beans, while this 16oz kroger brand extract was $24.
January 28, 2026 at 6:14 AM
using the restaurant method to chill them both rapidly. My own personal experience is that extract is best if added at the end, so that's what I've done for the comparison: beans at the beginning vs extract at the end

sorry to be all chlebowski but I wanted to see if vanilla seeds are better than just plain vanilla extract so here's two custards. I consulted a bunch of cookbooks for english and parisian custards, and basically for this quantity the consensus is one (1) bean added to the milk at the start
