It’s called an “inference to the best explanation” unless we have some unknown noteworthy empire in the west, 大秦 refers to a known empire — Roman Empire. It seems your complaint doesn’t make much sense and I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt here, but it doesn’t seem to work out in your favor.
