I'm not a cycling expert, but one thing I can tell you is it's fairly bad news when you have more punctures than spare inner tubes. It involves walking. Much sadness.

Here I am in 2022 interviewing a couple of riders on top of yet another mountain in the Pyrenees. This was for the Trans Pyrenees race not the Transcontinental. Amazing experience.
