I was supposed to be tidying! We moved our compost bin mid summer and accidentally grew tomatoes, so I had lots of green ones to try to ripen. I gave up and now have a bits and pieces chutney for winter.

Weaving, unweaving, and continuously learning seems to be my MO with #tabletweaving. I call it a slow acquisition of skills

Possibly the last flowering of the year on half of this begonia. It has grown monstrous though. If I chop it after flowering, will it grow back?

Ignoring that this is a double weave, just for the fun of it. #weaving

Some experimental sampling of log cabin in a double weave. There are many things wrong with it that I'd address if I were to take this further

Pattern 3 from #applesiesandfoxnoses and you can see where I forgot to pass the weft on the reverse of the pattern. I saw it quite quickly but decided to leave it as a memory of my development #TabletWeaving

A moment of sublime beauty - a dozen sparrows bathing in our bird baths, splashing and whirring their wings in the morning sunshine. Balm after a disturbed sleep last night with a vivid nightmare about middle Eastern conflicts

Pattern 2 straight off the loom. One of the benefits and drawbacks of this little keel loom is that bands can be quite short. Great for sampling and learning, but not so good for experimenting with fishing swivels and tautline hitches #inkleweaving #tabletweaving #applesiesandfoxnoses

Something seems to be going in at last. I warped up pattern 2 from #applesiesandfoxnoses and even had roughly the same colours, which made things easier. No mistakes in the warping order or the card orientation - wahoo! Next to tackle, maintaining a consistent width #inkleweaving #tabletweaving

Getting a little more familiar with #TabletWeaving and loving how my little keel loom lets me play and use up thrums. This is the first pattern in #applesiesandfoxnoses , without the added turns I'd been making in my newbie carelessness. Thrums are from hand dyed linen I wove into tea towels

What a lovely day, visiting New Mills to see my work in an exhibition. I even bumped into @fieldstofabricontheroad, who organised our exhibit. I say our, as this is all work from the online weaving group that I'm a member of. Awesome contributions to be alongside.

We visited family yesterday, including our adorable young great niece. A terrible journey back, but at least we didn't have to stop at the services - I'd forgotten that she'd adorned me with shiny letter stickers.

I have a small piece in this exhibition alongside beautiful work from fellow members of the group. Can you guess which one is mine?

Another step taken with #TabletWeaving . Lots of experimentation, including controlling twist. I had to use lobster clasp swivel clips as I Itemporarily couldn't find the fishing swivels I bought mumble years ago.

A kind friend reminded me that I had the Candace Crockett #TabletWeaving book and that it might be a good idea to work through that before diving into the excitement of Applesies and Foxnoses. 1/2

I am paging more experienced tablet weavers as I'm doing something wrong, and I am too green to pinpoint it without help.

This is my wonky first try at the first pattern in Applesies and Foxnoses. The front kind of looks like the pattern, but the back is nothing like the photo in the book. 1/2

Blimey, I actually finished something today! I've backed my #krokbragd sample with a pvc table covering remnant to make a sit mat, ready for visits to my favourite nature reserve

First steps. Just yarns and a toe to weave it.

I have also had an itch to play around with my homemade pin loom, which is nothing more than panel pins knocked into a board from a children's game. Even this grabby but very soft yarn takes less than 15 minutes a square. I might even have plans for what these will turn into

I love my 1st exploration of #threecolorpickup. Half has gone into something I can't show yet. The rest has joined my tie rack of joy where I display my bands. The final photos are of work which is not mine.

Same view using ink, and the beautiful local countryside in its glory

Having a bit of a party with different graphite media and a touch of charcoal. That should have read post, but it was so much fun, I think party is actually more fitting

This was a fun #idrijalace challenge. Finished in time for my in person class to resume in September. Now, to resist the temptation to start another one.....

More #idrijalace beginner practice complete with mistakes and so much learning

A moment of gratitude to both my mother, who over a decade ago thought of me when she was in a charity shop, and past me who stored that purchase away after weaving one inkle band (picture 2) with no idea of what future me would do with that bag full of items.
