She/Her, 36, living in the PNW. This is for my ADHD thoughts about (among other things) gaming, TV shows, Horror, TTRPGs/LARP, leftist Christianity, and the cute things kids say at the Childrens’ Center where I work.
As a child, I had a small rotation of films I’d have my parents rent for me at Blockbuster over and over again. One of them was My Neighbor Totoro. So by default that one has to be my favorite. Special mentions to Spirited Away and Ponyo, however.
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.

A kid wrote this today, and it was so funny I had to take a picture. 😆

Hot take: high school math should teach logic and statistics instead of pre-calc and/or calculus. They’re far more important for everyday life.

So, as the kids have begun once more talking about what their Elves On Shelves are doing, I came up with a great idea: Krampus in the Classroom.

Argh, I’m mad at a parent again. I don’t like being mad, it stops me from relaxing. >.<

Reading Midnight Mass memes on Pinterest, and a lot of people seem baffled that the “angel” let Pruitt pack him up and dress him up. But, like, have they not considered that he probably understood full well that Pruitt was about to try and start a cult around him and he thought “yes I am your god”?

There’s a girl in Pre-K who is currently obsessed with Dora the Explorer, and has been using the Spanish words she’s learning at *every* opportunity. It’s challenging me to remember *my* Spanish so I can engage with her! I love it!

Ok, watching Sinners again. How is it that Smoke and Stack can be played by the exact same person, but Smoke is definitely the more attractive one?

You know, I wish I had seen Sinners for the first time in the theater. I think some of those scenes, while still awesome on my TV, would have hit way different on the big screen.

Finally watched Sinners yesterday! I am tempted to watch it again tonight before my rental expires but I’m not sure I’ll have time.

“Small group of survivors’ last stand against invading vampire hoard” is not my favorite plot trope. But of those kinds of movies, this is *certainly* the best!

Just started watching the 2013-14 Dracula series. Certainly the *hottest* version of Dracula I’ve ever seen!

Just finished watching Midnight Mass, and oh boy that one’s gonna stay with me for awhile. That was SO GOOD! *That*’s the kind of vampire story I love!

Of all the very valid reasons to hate the ai slop flooding the internet right now, I think the kind I hate the most is videos and “photos” of animals. The joy of animals doing strange things is rooted in the knowledge that a *real* animal *really* did that. I feel so betrayed when I learn it’s fake.

If I may vaguepost for a moment, sometimes I feel like the hardest part of childcare is parents.

Just had a kid book it out of the playground and run & hide. Nearly gave me a heart attack. 😫

Had a conversation with a 2nd grader yesterday where he asked me what kind of movies get rated NC-17. I told him some things are too grown up for him to even know about yet. And I watched as he briefly fell into a mental pit of what that could even mean.

4yo being intensely wiggly, Lead Teacher trying to calm him down.

4yo: “I’m just dancing to K-Pop Demon Hunters!”
LT: “It’s like he’s possessed!”
Me: “Yeah, by the Saja Boys.”

Finally gave in and bought a year subscription to Shudder!

Kindergartener came to aftercare the other day after having watched Hocus Pocas and getting freaked out. Wanted to know if witches are real. I try to always be honest with the kids, and I know a lot of pagans… I told her the kind that turn kids into cats are *not* real, and any I’ve met are nice.

Watching the AHSs Backrooms episode. It’s really disappointing when traditional media tries to do something from unfiction/creepypasta and just *totally* misses the point. It would have been better if it was just its own story, and wasn’t trying to capitalize on the popularity of the Backrooms.

So I just found out Glee and American Horror Story had the same showrunner. 😮 Ryan Murphy was *also* the showrunner for a couple other shows I’ve really liked, including Scream Queens and Pose. I had no idea they were all made by the same guy!

Today I attempted to solve a kid’s playtime problem by suggesting queer polyamory. 😜 Details in following posts.

I will say, though, @drawfeeshow.com I can’t believe y’all didn’t use the prompt generator on Kid Pix for your drawings! I really would love to see you guys do another Kid Pix episode where you each make something based on those. I just love the way it says “— and I rock the house!”
October 10, 2025 at 3:10 PM
@drawfeeshow.com did an episode playing Kid Pix, and now I’ve fallen down a nostalgia rabbit hole of old games from when I was a kid. Thinking of hunting down and buying/downloading a bunch of them this weekend. I’m remembering so many I’d forgotten, too!
