SURPRISE! I released another Perpetual Stu song today for #BandcampFriday! It's called "Happier" and it's a song about being sad.

Give it a listen!

RTs appreciated, streams and downloads even more so!

I don't think I've ever seen so many types of ticket sold for the same movie

Just realized that I’m more emotional about it being 20 years since I played my first “real” show than it being 20 years since I literally graduated from college lmao

TRUMP: I saw a film the other day where Antifa piloted a large ship above the White House and shot it with some sort of death ray. Will Smith was there.

The president, facedown on The Presidential Desk: Los Angeles is a hell hole, you have many people doing bangkok rules, riding surfboards. SNAKE PLISSKLEN they call him and we're looking into that

That is to say: If Gen AI produces an output that feels like the “best option” to you, then you need to go back to the drawing board and try to *beat* what the AI produced, because the AI’s output is an amalgamation of a bunch of stuff that already exists. we should be pushing for *newness* in art.

The problem, as I see it, with Gen AI is that it can never and will never produce anything “new.” It can only produce the most viable midpoint of what you’re asking for based on the data given to it.

As a result, I think GenAI should *only* be used to prove that an idea *isn‘t* novel.

That's RIGHT! We played there a bunch (our singer was a sound guy there and our bassist worked the door). Great venue, even if it always smelled like farts in the back of the room.

I consider Destiny to be a steaming poo but have no quarrel with Hasan (you're right lol)

The screenshotted post you’re responding to is mocking the exact kind of people you’re “calling out” here. This guy has been extremely anti-Trump since 2015.

I had a punk friend who made fun of me for referring to my "musical career" on a message board but the reality is that at the time, it *was* my career! Like, sometimes it can be!

People get mad at me for this take, but creatives who claim to not care about numbers are straight up lying.

While you should have a love for the art, your brain is biologically hardwired to want many people to like you.

I know that everyone says "you're supposed to be making music for YOURSELF" and "play counts shouldn't MATTER" but it's really hard for me to justify spending dozens of hours over weeks and months to make a song I'm really proud of that gets *literally* 8 streams. It just feels bad, man.

The crux of "Anti-Trans" and "Anti-Autistic" movement seems to be this false belief that there are "more" Trans or Autistic ppl "now," but that perception is driven primarily by the fact that Trans and Autistic people feel safer being openly Trans and Autistic online.

The "Challenge Coins" thing since Trump 45 has been absolutely *wild.* Trump found out that you can get prizes for attending certain meetings and was so proud of it that he started displaying them behind the Resolute Desk.

These same people think "participation trophies" have doomed the youth.

I've been in Online Spaces and on Social Media for over half my life, brother. Barely anything that's happened to me has happened without the influence of social media in some way.

I know it wasn't but imagine if part of the Paramount/CBS settlement for the 60 Minutes situation was that they signed over the rights to use Nickelodeon content this way.

This is *beside* the fact that she hides "easter eggs" or whatever in her lyrics. On one hand – we shouldn't need a decoder ring to figure out what a pop song is about. On the other hand, she's describing experiences that are damn-near impossible for anyone but her to ever live.

One of my college writing professors was like "Draw from the specifics of your life instead of trying to describe general experiences and you'll have a greater impact on your audience."

I think that Taylor Swift's lyrics since "Reputation" or so are proof that this pendulum can swing too far.
