In 1938, France commemorated the 40th anniversary of the discovery of radium by Marie and Pierre Curie with a stamp bearing a 50c surtax to benefit the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), and issued stamps for 21 of its colonies, with each stamp identical except for the name of the colony.

Neat topic! Here's my contribution: a 9p stamp of Christ in St Pierre du Bois church in Guernsey, issued for Christmas 1972 and the Royal Silver Wedding. Was the latter was an afterthought? A good design for Christmas, but an odd one for a silver wedding! As far as I know, they were not overprints.

When size matters. I think these are my oldest overprints. Three 1897 British Guiana values commemorating HM Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, overprinted in 1899 (by the Daily Chronicle in Georgetown) with lower values to basically get them used up! I love the engraving on these old stamps.
