The "Stairway of Death" at Mauthausen, Austria, a notorious SS for-profit death camp, that produced crushed quarry stone for building projects. Prisoners were forced to carry stones weighing up to 50kg up these stairs. At the top they were often pushed off the cliff (out of picture to the right) into a shallow pool in a ritual the SS called "parachute practice".
