It's what he did to Zelensky. Tit for tat.

In a breach of diplomatic protocol that signals the absolute depth of the transatlantic rift, President Trump has touched down in Davos, Switzerland, to a "silent arrival." Breaking with the fanfare customarily afforded to a US Head of State, there was no official welcoming.

Lovely story.
A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

There's a sharpened knitting needle to the heart. 👍
The BBC spent the past decade trying to throw trans women and girls into a gas chamber. I'm not feeling too sorry for the BBC.

I don't think it's a good idea to be doing the propaganda of a foreign power for them. A sign of getting old, I suppose.

America sneezes. We catch a cold.

And the UK is overexposed.

As long as foreign tech runs our digital infrastructure, our systems can be used as leverage or disrupted on Trump's say so.

A lot of people think there's a Gestapo-like quality to Stephen Miller and ICE. They should think broader, as in Himmler's Schutzstaffel or SS, of which the Gestapo was merely a part.

One of the worst features of political journalism and analysis in the Trump era. Remember the key quote: "The former official said he doesn't think Trump is playing 'the sort of three-dimensional chess people ascribe to decisions like this. More often than not he's just eating the pieces.'"
Institutionalized #CleverFallacy. If you tell smart people to explain the underlying logic of something, they'll find one whether it has anything to do with what Trump is up to or, almost always, not.
Note how NYT continues to do "analysis" focused on Trump as a rational actor in international relations matters. He isn't. And treating him this way is dangerous sane washing.
