Hello new followers! New album coming in the spring but for now here's a photo of Tunstall forest which I scoped out this morning to do some filming for visuals in.

@goingmedieval.bsky.social I’m just picking up on a throw away comment about the builders and craftspeople who made medieval buildings on your latest episode - I was struck by a monument at Strasbourg Cathedral that lists everyone they know to have worked on it. The earliest are just mason’s marks.

“This is all a distraction from the Epstein Files.”

It isn’t. It’s President Evil doing evil because he’s evil. It’s not that complicated.

I've been switching from Google to Proton for ages, it's great. Here's a good guide from @parismarx.com disconnect.blog/getting-off-...
Getting off US tech: a guide
I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.

I'm about to switch from Tidal to Qobuz, once I have time to do all the playlist admin. Folk I know who have switched are enjoying it.

Proton is good for the web services stack: mail, calendar, storage, VPN etc. Based in Switzerland. For music I've heard good things about qobuz.com french service with lossless high quality streaming. Alternatively docker and open source software are your friends.
Qobuz - Unlimited high quality streaming (United States)
More than 100 million tracks available for unlimited streaming in high sound quality. Qobuz is also the worldwide leader in 24-Bit Hi-Res downloads.

Ok folks, if I want to boycott American products, it’s really difficult. Because the majority if it is subscription based internet services ranging from Google One to Netflix. And pointing out that Spotify is Swedish is not going to win any points here.

People saying the internet was a bad idea. They’re wrong. Putting sociopathic, unaccountable billionaires in charge of it was a bad idea.

This is my new album.

It's instrumental, apart from some crowd chanting on Your Gold, Mr Bridger.

The average tune length is two minutes and eight seconds.

There are fourteen tunes.

It sounds like old telly music.

It's ace.

I'd love it if you listened.

I've love it even more if you shared it.

Quite a few people say they’re quite tempted by this. Do it the old school papier maché way. The proper way. You’ll have more fun. Do it with your kids. The heady thrill of ordering it from an app on your phone simply isn’t worth it.
I know late-stage capitalism will plunder anything, but I'm getting Temu adverts on Facebook for mass-produced, plastic Frank Sidebottom heads.

The greatest achievement of my entire epistolary career was the day I got two letters printed on the same page.

A good deed and a crush, telling a single, increasingly horrifying, story from two unconnected people.

40 years. FML.
Watched it at home and loved every second. Then the following week our teacher put it on at school. Just packed full of such unbridled joy. He really was our generation's big brother.
40 years ago this week, Rik Mayall completed children's TV, with his telling of ', George's Marvellous Medicine' on Jackanory.

Here's the whole thing in one video. I love that his voice for Granny is just him riffing off Ade's Vyvyan voice.

I really miss him. Bastard!
