Happy #BandcampFriday everyone. I have some new music released today - my first record as Of the Night Sky. The Coastal EP is a four tracks of Suffolk-inspired ambient music, beautifully packaged as a split album with Jean-Emmanuel Rosnet on Handstitched*.

Bored today? Go into your Bandcamp collection and write some comments in the 'what do you love about this album' boxes. Artists really, really love to hear that stuff.
I was the keys player. We did a reggae flavoured song. I put delay on the keys part. He told me to "stop trying to make everything techno".

It didn't last long :)
My irrational hatred of Rush is entirely based on one asshole guitarist I was in a band with around 1995.

I'm not sure I've ever even listened to a Rush song.
Fair. Also, tbh. I love Ikeda, but better in small doses perhaps.
Nightmare clash with Ikeda at the Barbican. Decisions...
I *will* make it this time.... :)
#Suffolk musicians - anyone know of a recording studio with a relatively decent acoustic piano that isn't super high end/residential? Looking for somewhere to put a couple of tracks down. can only seem to find band/producer rooms or pro classical places and I'm self-funding.
Late to the party as always, but Nala Sinephro is 100% my jam at the moment.

I've done that a number of times - flipping a remix into a track. Including on my forthcoming album. Their loss etc.
I *hate* how over orchestrated the theme has become.
additional slight bias because I always got detailed, thoughtful reviews from @theskinnymenace.bsky.social by reviewers that clearly had listened carefully to the record. Really glad they're still a thing.

Smashing, this, and mirrors my experience in a different genre, similar trajectory. Was never trying to be a rockstar (too lazy), but the venues and audience were there and most of my time was spent thinking about, you know, actual music. Still making work, but won't engage with engagement any more.
Every plaid album since double figure has had songs on it that are amongst their best but sort of agree that was their last all killer no filler album. I have a self made best of compilation which slays it.
Sample it, loop it, fuck it and eat it.
this post has inspired a day of Grebo. thx :)

In related news, Mega City Four holding up surprisingly well.
I just found a load of my streaming videos from lockdown. They were pretty good sometimes. It came to feel like screaming into the void but it was good for technique and getting out of my comfort zone a bit. Made me miss the octatrack and a less complex set up.
We are back. New old music and new new music is coming.
I was OBSESSED with this game as a kid. What a cover.
I lived around the corner from the Old Kent Road place and my mate ran a kebab shop a few shops down. That place was amazing and he was great. Haven't thought about that for decades, what a nice memory.
