Odd reporting from the Telegraph over the weekend framing a thing the government literally announced in the Autumn budget as if it's a new exclusive via a Whitehall insider.

Nonetheless the fact that this is being looked at is good.

The UK's top ten selling cars of 2025 is conclusive proof that the UK public has terrible taste in cars and we should be telling them what to buy not selling them what they think they want.

I know we’re all worried about the energy used by Google and other digital services but I’m not sure asking the Transport Minister your question in parliament instead is a better use of resource.

There’s something so insane about the OBR’s website being run on Wordpress.

The number of times I’ve double and triple checked the scheduling of a relatively inane blog post because I don’t trust the time zone setting.

And that is literally what tripped up the UK’s fiscal regulator last week?!

Not the biggest EV misinformation problem we face, but media's image choices can't be helping consumer confusion.

Story about cross pavement home charging... accompanied by a pic of an ultra rapid motorway charging hub.

"Is my street going to start looking like a motorway service station now?"

I find it bizarre that there are lots of progressives on X calling for a boycott of Tesla.

Are they not aware of the irony of where they are posting this?

Tesla, albeit the biggest source of Musk's wealth, isn't wholly owned by him. And isn't an online platform designed to spread hate.

This @thetimes.com chart isn't too bad at showing the petrol/electric charging cost differential.

It misses a major nuance — most EV drivers don't exclusively charge at home, slow or rapid, but a mix.

And 7,500 miles per year is lower than average. Pence per mile would be a more useful axis.

Petition to get all the organisers of sports I care about to schedule better.

What Juliet said. Want to pay less for wind farms switching off? Forget zonal. Make suppliers disclose their portfolio renewable balancing figures - they'll soon improve.

I can't even sign into Twitter if I try to anymore that website is so broken.

(I only wanted to do a quick lurk, haven't been active there for months).

Tyrique George has had some great moments this season but this er, trumps them all.

Today’s #showyourstripes day?

Throwback to when we showed em on the UK’s first wind farm at Delabole in Cornwall for COP26.

I imagine it was some skeptic think tank or Reform/Tory spad who fed him the story in the first place.

This is quite amusing at least. Fails to mention the historical record of Dieter Helm being massively wrong about everything he claims to be an expert on.

Very disappointing to see @cityam.bsky.social / @mauriciofca.bsky.social go in for this solution denial.

That's not what they said, is it? The point made was that the high cost of electricity *DRIVEN BY GAS AND LEVIES* currently *CAN* make low carbon tech running on electricity more expensive.

Full magnets, how do they work? 🤡

For some reason a bunch of media this week have decided to quote one of our particularly mundane support articles explaining how smart meters interact with clock changes. Of all the interesting and important stories we pitch, this is what they're writing about.

Being a Very Silly Person, I had to make a @goodenergyuk.bsky.social TikTok on what the Tea Time Alarm means for grid management and flexibility.

NEA and FPA absolutely right here - removing standing charges in this way doesn't help the vulnerable. But I'm not sure what they expected.

I'll tell you who it does help - second home owners and landlords with empty properties.

Oh right ok there's like a whole name for this and everything. Jevons paradox.
