We live in a funny world: just making the most of it, one day at a time. Tweeter. Liberaler. Quiddler. Un buveur d’encre. A recovering frog after slowly cooking in Musks cauldron for too long.
After the Nazi occupation of Denmark in 1940, the Danish Ambassador to the US, loyal to the King and preNazi govt, asked the US to defend Greenland. The end result was a host of US bases on Greenland, only Thule now operational still.

Definitely a day for the fringes of London. Having had coffee on the east side in Woolwich, off to the west side for something else. Uxbridge is an under appreciated tube station. (Unlike Uxbridge, which is definitely not over appreciated🤭)

That Fox News is blatantly partisan is no surprise. Having a crime section that only covers 'blue city' crime? yep, its that bad. And ofc they dont have a Red City crime section, nearest equivalent is 'True Crime'. This is the US News section - these crime sections are the *only* sections in 'US'

The editors went to town a bit with Stephen last night - lots of lingering shots of him at various times with an expression like this.
(Tho in this one, not sure what he was surprised at, but it wasn’t being locked up in a cage😈)

Anyone who ever harkens back to BR and the Network South East days just needs to go on the Northern City line: the trains might be new, but the tiles n stuff are very 1980s. No wonder Tfl wants to take it over - it’s a lost part of the network
(With apologies for a mucky lens)

Saw an advert earlier for an AI generated Indian film. Jiostar (it turns out) is the TV & Media co that owns Disney assets in India, a JV with Reliance. The film is all AI - as sign of Disney things to come? Can see a clip here:

New York's new mayor was sworn in last night at a ceremony underground at the now abandoned but still spectacular City Hall subway station.

... That chap was in London this year. Aside from lots of normal photos, he got some line scan photos of tube trains taken through a tiny gap in the fence at Barons Court.

Dear the @the-independent.com is there a reason your posts show the same text in triplicate ? There are better uses of text and space eg don’t put the title of the piece into the post itself

When your Tfl tube status widget looks a Damien Hirst dots thing. Plus we seem to have run out of colours 🤭

Also love their attention to detail: having the music for the choir bound into a proper book for the service.

Saw my GP for something yesterday. Although the preferred treatment for it is a pill, I can’t take it because of another condition. (Just like I can’t use Ibuprofen say). So today pick up from pharmacy was a tad larger than they’d usually dispense for this 🤭 . This is just for a week or two 🤪

Standing by a crossing recently, noticed these road safety barriers. I can still remember the idea for them featuring on Tomorrows World back in the 1980s (or even 70s) - rather than aligned central bars that block the view through, stagger them so kids can be seen
