Mt current wish list for @bsky.app new features - when they can find the time:
- draft posts, that work cross device. Let me save tweets and come back to them
- bookmarks
- ability to mute reposts selectively ie per account. Some people post a lot of RTs, but I dont want to mute them entirely
After the Nazi occupation of Denmark in 1940, the Danish Ambassador to the US, loyal to the King and preNazi govt, asked the US to defend Greenland. The end result was a host of US bases on Greenland, only Thule now operational still.

More on bans on smartphones in schools #bbr4today but where will we get to? A ban on Socials apps on public transport ? Damage to adults is way more costly .

Imagine how this evolves: unless you prove you’re gay, if you’re not coupled by 30 you lose your right to many benefits. And, medical issues aside, sprogs must follow: 3 by 40. Otherwise your tax rate is upped to compensate for extra support you will need.

As a moderate, I think it would be more sensible to leave dating apps up to the private sector, but with a publicly owned dating service of last resort run by the Post Office, to match up people who are particularly ugly or unpleasant.
Just read a substack by a young policy type advocating for a "government-run dating service"
to support "couple creation" to address the fertility crisis and honestly I can think of nothing worse or more *incredibly* risky on the zero-to-eugenics front

Tonight in Minneapolis.

Increased activity around Iran’s hidden ballistic-missile launchers, which began before the current protests but has ramped up in the past two weeks, has prompted Israel to put its forces on high alert

Nazi Germany saw Jewish people blamed for many of society ills: stealing jobs, ripping off etc. it saw them randomly murdered by state forces, businesses destroyed, & afraid to be on streets. 2020s America, much? And you didn’t have to be Jewish to be caught up- just look it

History is repeating itself.

This 👇🏼
This is f*cked up!

There isn’t any law in this country that requires you to provide proof of citizenship on the interior, but unfortunately ICE is racially profiling.

And they don’t care if you say you’re a US citizen.

So where does this leave everyone? If you don’t look white, you’re in danger.

Many UK Challenger 2 tanks will be upgraded to Challenger3s. But 140 won’t be. We gave Ukraine 14 near the start of the war, and they have proved themselves despite the small number. Can’t we give them more? bsky.app/profile/euro...
The UK hasn’t decided what to do with 140 Challenger 2 tanks not being upgraded — even as Ukraine continues using them in battle.

They could be scrapped, stored, or transferred, but for now, they remain in limbo.

UK has 140 Challenger 2 tanks with no clear future as Ukraine needs armor
While some are being upgraded, many remain in limbo with options like scrapping, storage, or possible donation.

Not often Steven Hawking mentioned ina history prog and he’s not the main event: R4 just now has a prog on Robert Graves. Graves’ son was at school with Hawking (2 years apart). Hawking at that age (9 or so) like throwing those bangers things. Graves hated them, for the wartime reminder
