It's also not a good way to run a railway, even if it's privately owned. If you are running services along a track, you want to run the best service you can, either for your customers or shareholders. You don't want someone running a short train in between your long trains simply because they can.

What about if I'm not American, but despise Drumpf?

Likewise. I'd like to know why.

I'm loving the fact that the Daily Mail people don't like it. If they hate it so much, they should move to Drumpf's America.

Drumpf minor, being a quarter Scottish, definitely qualifies as a numpty.

Debt which the Americans created themselves by not standing up to fascism in 1939. Does this sound familiar?

This, exactly. Having worked at both Scunthorpe and Port Talbot, there is a huge difference between the sites. Port Talbot is very confined with nowhere to build an EAF without demolishing the furnaces. Scunthorpe incorporates the space which was Redbourn Works many years ago. Apples and pears.

Erm, what positives???

Drumpf really needs to think this through. If he's eligible to stand again, so is Barack Obama.

I blame Mandy, who always had his eye on focus groups. Labour policy in 1997 should have been to give the same amount of power to all the regions as was given to Scotland after a referendum. Proper devolution. We would have had Leeds trams by now.

Well, Oliver Cromwell was hanged and beheaded more than two years after he died of natural causes, so Drumpf isn't quite being original.

Both of my second great grandparents died in North Lincolnshire in 1927 due to the flu epidemic. I don't need to hear this from someone who is only famous because his uncle was shot.

Is his money from Twitter going to him or to a company he owns? It isn't possible to use a company as an MP, so he would lose the ability to pay low tax on all his dividends if he took an MP's salary - assuming he is a basic rate taxpayer now. See www.gov.uk/tax-on-divid... .

In Ten Word Wiki, I described Jack Daniel's as "American excuse for whisky. Made drinkable by drowning with coke." Seriously, just about any Scotch Whisky or Irish Whiskey is better. Try Glenmorangie, perhaps.

Surely you should be talking about Yorkshire and the Humber here? Blair should have implemented regional government across all the regions of Britain, not just in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and London.

Utterly disgraceful, Grauniad. The word is Aluminium. Oh.
