Yeah. Just listened again. It's all pretty explicit. 😤

Fwiw, specifically about healthcare for illegals.

Can confirm. It's the most passive aggressive "out of office" message ever.

If you have to preface that you are not trolling....you are trolling. It's the new, "with all due respect," followed by being disrespectful. 😓

How do you know Rachel Cohen? My childhood rival? 😂 With y'all all the way!

In 2024, the media played defense for Trump's denials of revolving door politics/connectedness to Project 2025. Turns my stomach on the regular.

Shot/chaser

@adambonica.bsky.social, yesterday, "shutdowns favor GOP-leaning agencies and harm liberal ones." substack.com/home/post/p-...

Trump, today, "The shutdown gives me the opportunity to inflict devastating harm on my political adversaries' government-aligned interests [paraphrased]."
a graph showing liberal leaning agencies have more furloughed employees than conservative leaning ones. a Truth Social Post from the president: "I have a meeting today with russ Vought, he of Project 2025 fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he commends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can't believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way to wanting to, quietly and quickly, make america great again. In Office Hours. Made a meme explaining how I feel about some research I'm working on.

I think EK is a boon for good. But I get irked by something I also find in myself. I think he has too much empathy for his guests. I've never seen them move greatly towards his point, only him softening and seeing their side of things. Often wondered how pundits change as they talk to each other.

"I'm so glad I work for a network where we can have a conversation about demons." 😂😂😂

1. We do not know the motive of the shooter. The man who shot at Trump was after attention.
2. The man who murdered MN legislators WAS motivated by politics, and I didn’t hear any Dems calling for reprisals against all Repubs.
3. It’s easy to start a cycle of violence. Not easy to end one.

Very, very bad stuff coming from leading right-wingers

Sweet! Gonna use this for my undergrad methods sequence! 😊

If he was gonna do this anyway, it would have been romantic to end the filibuster with a proposal.

Amazing. Am I reading this right. Democrats' satisfaction with "how things are going" is basically just measurement error.

A 76% point gap between how satisfied Republicans are with the country versus how satisfied Democrats are. The largest partisan gap ever. news.gallup.com/poll/694370/...

Trump's ham-handed voting restrictions are a poor solution to a manufactured and racialized issue of voter/election fraud. Receipts here, in paper form: link.springer.com/article/10.1...

Many thanks for the signal boost! Small world. Was literally listening to your interview with Perry Bacon Jr. just now. Good stuff.

Academia is great. I read a paper, edited a lecture, and ate my dog's leftover birthday cake for breakfast. Off to teach.

More lectures should have a two drink minimum. 😉😎

Time line cleanser. Rory turned 3 yesterday. Baked cake and barista knew her fav is watermelon. People signed a card. Some things are still good.

Anyone else using GroupMe for your classes? I'm a week in and it's already paying dividends by keeping my inbox cleaner and letting students chime in with helpful links and answering syllabus/reading questions. Also, my students voted on my office hours candy selection.
