Fungi and fungi-like organisms - 4EU+ Summer School From Fungal Morphology to Genotype, Białowieża 2025

A list of specimens and observations recorded during Field Mycology course on 20-27 September 2025 organized by 4EU+ Alliance in Białowieża (Poland). Participants took trips to various forest sites in the Białowieża Forest, collected various fungi and fungi-like organisms, and identified them during laboratory classes. Some specimens were dried, preserved, and deposited in the Herbarium of Warsaw University (WA), Warsaw, Poland. Others were only recorded as observations in the field. Another Bachelors degree at our institute! Jakub Lisiak defended his thesis today on the influence of intrahyphal bacteria on the growth & gene expression of the fungus Umbelopsis. The thesis impressed the committee and was awarded a 5! Bravo, Kuba! 🥳👏
