Garden absolutely TEEMING with butterflies and bees today. Just counted five peacock butterflies and a couple of these tortoiseshells. Cabbage whites everywhere as usual.

Ladybirds, also.

A message to all other Belfast City Councillors: Hopefully BCC acquires the Assembly Rooms in next few months, but don't pat yourselves on the back, thinking job done.

This is only the end of the beginning. We still have more to do in delivering a city centre people will be proud of.

Rewilding isn't only about saving nature, but re-filling the world with beauty and loveliness.

We just need to allow it happen.

Greenery in alleys just makes sense. We share it with bins, left over recyclable items and a manner of other things left behind. We can make these blend into the background woth plants, shrubs and trees.

It’s almost the start of my favorite time of the year, the Big Butterfly Count starting from 1st July. I love taking 15 minutes wherever I am to just go outside and look for butterflies. Last year was pretty disappointing due to the wet winter/spring but this year I’m more hopeful. Happy counting 🦋
Big Butterfly Count app will open on 1st July
