This story is getting a lot of attention, so just to be clear: aviation incidents like this are (unfortunately) relatively common in rural Alaska and don't necessarily have anything to do with any recent developments at the federal level. This is still bad though.

A plane carrying 10 people went missing in a remote region along the western coast of Alaska on Thursday, setting off a search amid poor weather conditions, officials said.
