It's good though. Every rewritten chapter has been a struggle, but once it's done I've been like. Okay yes this is much better.

I was so confident, too. I got the suggestions back from my editor and was like, hell yeah, this is great. She didn't tell me what specifically needed to change (I didn't want her to), just pointed out places where there are weak points. And in fixing those, I've realized it needed a full rewrite.

I think I've hit on a mini-arc to carry the story to the end, which will give my protagonist enough personal growth and enough of an external push for the actions she needs to take in the end. But so much of it is internal and I am struggling with the pacing.

Writing is hard 😮‍💨
