Teachers, school leaders and support staff work so hard for their well earned LSL - the least employers can do is make sure this valuable leave is fairly provided and available. Well done IEU members on protecting this vital workplace right!

IEU members have had to fight for their lawful super payments from many unscrupulous education employers - these new laws guaranteeing pay day super will make a huge difference and protect the retirement incomes of hard working school staff.
Super is workers retirement savings, not employers money. This is why we are calling on parliament to pass pay day super reforms. Pay day super will make it easier to spot when money is missing and workers will get more benefits from compound interest.

Today’s discussion at Parliament put worker concerns about the impact of AI centre stage. Teachers, tech workers, nurses, finance staff and actors shared stories about why worker protections are badly needed to guard against negative work impacts. Workplace AI must be ethical, transparent & safe.

Well done to Min Wells and the federal ALP govt for taking action on deepfake harassment in schools. We also need consistent national laws to criminalise online abuse of female staff and students:

Abusive 'nudify' and stalking apps to be weeded out
Deepfake tools that allow users to manipulate a person's photos and use generative AI to sexualise them are exposing Australian children to life-changing harm.
