There are many cultural reactionary points of view that are not materially or at least substantially supported by the Bible that are nevertheless considered foundational for modern conservative politics, this is one of them and this essay is downstream of this.

One thing that drives me nuts about this is that the actual full government name of Mexico is “The United States of Mexico”. It doesn’t even make any sense that “Estadounidense” would be the appropriate term for Americans, it’s less correct!

Having spoken in a fair number of neighborhood council meetings, I do not think the vast, vast, vast majority of NIMBYs care whatsoever about property values. It’s just hatred of change.
