I'm very uncertain about James Gunn being in charge of this but a longer form adaption that adopts the much more morally interesting tone of the comics is something I'm very interested in.
I like the Wachowskis but the movie throws away a lot of nuance for Bush Did 9/11-style criticism.

Also, instead of long-form programming, all it shows are 30 second clips and ads, and the boundary between the two is blurred at best
it is super helpful to reframe it to "what if kids had a TV with them 24/7"
This is probably overstating the evidence a bit; but my main objection is that unlike video games, a phone (essentially a handheld computer) is going to be with these kids the rest of their lives and simply banning them will not actually help them develop the tools to regulate themselves.
