Too much work to post very often. I just like to take pictures of my dog Marty, my cat Shark, and write short stories typically with a horror or science fiction flavor.

8.5 mile hike around cheeseman reservoir. My 15yo accompanied me and the dog. Fantastic Father's day!

In another news, the cat approved of the new cat tree location.

Another amazing day of writing. Sure it's turning into a novella, but whatever.

Definitely a correlation for me between sleeping good the night before and getting a good session of writing.

Was just re-reading a poignant story about aging and memory--and A.I.s! A fantastic short story from my good friend @paulmartz.bsky.social

More Than Electric Sheep - Uncharted
Overhead lighting is disabled. It is late at the Home for Aging A.I.s, and my internal clock counts the passing of each solitary electron. By the dim glow of our power indicators, my stereopticon disc...

Two rewrites going from third to first person, and 26,000 words layer.... I finally find the voice I was looking for.

Rewrite number three started yesterday but because it finally felt right. The only reason I stopped was the dog told me it was time to walk and play.

My short, figured around 7k words, ballooned to nearly twice that length. Starting an initial edit pass for what works and what I can cut etc., but geez, that next idea sounds so much more fun!

Last night I had a fantastic idea of cooking chicken for tonight. It came out amazing. And then I woke up this morning to a thought: did I put the chicken away after letting it cool?

The answer is no. I didn't.

But I had a short story accepted today, so it balanced my day out :)

Pretty excited for tomorrow's hike. I was going to go up to the flatirons but learned I needed to buy a scheduled pass.

So we're doing 6 miles at a local trail. Always great time to let my mind wander and think about stories and what I'm doing wrong in my writing haha.

I've never seen a woodpecker before. Maybe because I didn't explore much when in North Dakota.

But this week I've seen two in Colorado. A Downy woodpecker and a group of Northern Flickers.
