Some hand sheets I made for the animation team! I looked at how Dana drew hands a lot and coupled it with my own anatomical knowledge of hands. #KnightsOfGuinevere

That’s totally normal.
I’d say even good.

It also helps me remember what I did alright and what needs improvement, so referencing my own drawings helps with motivation too.

Social media algorithms make me think of that junji ito story where people found holes in the mountain that are “just for them” and ended up being turned into something horrible when coming out the other side

yep, and the fact that it has amazing worldbuilding - every magical girl has tension and conflict built in due to how the magic system is structured.

have you seen Magia Record?

yep, we were just talking with my bf how sad it is that visual artists are less collaborative than musicians

musicians form bands and cross collaborate with each other all the time

i wonder why artists do that so much less
illiagrim.bsky.social
Yeah, I dislike the mass production aspect of it. Makes me think of music youtube channels churning out two 6-hour playlists of AI generated music a week.

If you handcraft your music, why adopt a slop aesthetic?
illiagrim.bsky.social
Yeah, I always think - why don’t you collab with an existing artist? It’s not as reliable or fast as art printing machine go brr.

You’d be cross promoting each other and making relationships instead of being further isolated from the world - something that tech is scarily good at facilitating.

how do you guys feel about musicians putting up playlists of their non-AI generated music but with a midjourney generated youtube cover?

Yes, but this worked 5 years ago. Nowadays the market is so unstable I don’t know if it’s safe.

It’s probably safer to ask for additional responsibility AND a pay raise. That’s what I do right now. “Hey boss, could you raise my pay if I added X to my responsibilities?” sorta thing.

To be honest, it’s more that you can tell if someone reads a lot.

It’s hard to put a finger on, but there’s a certain depth to their opinion combined with the width of topics they’re interested in.

what I used to do is to get interviewed at a competitor, get an offer for a higher salary, come back to my original employer with the offer and say “hey, I actually would like to keep working for you, I don’t want to leave, could you please match this?”

but this was before economy went to shit
