This about sums it up.
If the US holds Venezuela, we will seize 17% of oil -- yesterday's technology. If China uses this precedent to take Taiwan, it will own 60% of semiconductors -- tomorrow's technology. See what happens when you elect evil & stupid at the same time?

The perception is that involuntary care will sweep the streets clean, getting people into treatment and rebuilding contributing members of society.

The reality is that people are likely to be disappointed as we get a classic example of overpromise and underdeliver. Shane Mills writes. #vanpoli

Is this really what USA wants for their children and for the rest of the world?

Will they rise up and take the monsters they released down or will all humanity pay with the blood of our children?

An excellent breakdown of the stats.
The latest news story I wrote for @abworker.bsky.social
Today’s news story from @kimsiever.bsky.social

Alberta gained nearly 29,000 jobs last month

Most of them were full-time jobs; although full-time jobs, as a percentage of total jobs, are still lower than they were in June 2019.

The nice folks at Loblaws.
Loblaws #cdnpoli 👇
Their meat is priced _per package_ now, not per kilogram.
The photo above shows a 649 g tray (left) and a 733 g tray (right), both for $15.
So, if you're not careful, you're paying over 10% extra for chicken thighs!
This packaging change is hiding price inflation & gouging.

Big surprise.
The UCP government created and championed the Citizens Initiative Act as a fundamental part of our democracy - giving citizens the right to launch petitions and recall elected officials.
Now they're walking away from that commitment.

Medicine Hat emergency room physician Dr. Paul Parks is warning the public about what he asserts is a looming crisis in Alberta’s health-care system that will overwhelm the province’s already over-capacity and understaffed hospitals and lead to unnecessary deaths. #abpoli

This is the theme here in Alberta Canada right now as well.
The government strategy to drive a wedge between:

- unions and their members
- the public and the unions

is essentially pitting the public against the public, and we aren't that naive because we have personal contact with teachers, nurses, and senior doctors, and we admire them and their work.
