My step-grandfather was one of the lead financial forensic investigators who gathered documentary evidence used in those trials. I wish he'd lived to participate in that conversation. But he did leave us a book.

There is a really interesting section in Jonathan Haslam's book "Near and Distant Neighbors" where he talks about a KGB officer who put together the methodology, which Haslam lays out, by which the KGB figured out who at the US embassy was CIA.
