like in a fantasy dream land the very most i would want is to just be in her life. text a few times a week. see her when we’re in the same place. even that is unrealistic, but that’s the most i would want. i don’t want her. but i don’t know how to stop keeping space for her in my heart

may seem random to us today but on the ancient mediterranean, hospitality to foreigners was an highly important social custom

when men repeat the “all men” phrase it seems to me to be so pernicious, because what seems to me to be happening is that they have judged that this rhetoric will never harm them personally because they have a certain privilege in society, while marginalized people will face violence on this basis.

campaigns of hate/terror/etc. against lesbians and trans people (trans women as well as trans men) have long relied on this same idea that women deserve “safety” from these people, framing them as “dangerous”
