Managers have asked me a lot about if AI is a problem or not for junior devs to use. Here’s my hot take:

AI is the new StackOverflow. This is not a new problem, just the next evolution of it.

My experience has been the secret to people getting better is frequent, quality feedback.

Oreo may have won the grocery stores.
But Biscoff has won the skies.

How is tech still so bad? The airport I’m at just had their power blip for ~2 seconds. Hard rebooted all the self check kiosks for @americanair.bsky.social. We’re at 8 minutes and they’re still not ready for someone to use them yet 🤦‍♀️

“This is fine 🔥”
Not speaking to this particular deal or any that have come before it but eventually pushing early or growth stage risk into the debt part of the capital stack (especially in illiquid structures) is going to go spectacularly awry.

What ever happened to ClubHouse? Is anyone still active there? Haven’t heard about it in forever.

Me: “Has anyone seen my phone?”

Friend: “Did you leave it in the charging toaster again?”

This toaster-looking gadget boosts your phone’s battery in seconds
The price of never charging your phone again is... a lot.

LinkedIn, I know you're rate limiting me to protect yourself... but when that rate limiting kicks in for opening 4 tabs at once, it means you've got some architectural problems buddy.

Me: “Somehow I’ve dressed myself today like a nomad web-dev doing soul searching in Argentina.”

Friend: “Why a web developer?”

Me: “Backend engineers know who the hell they are!”

Things that did NOT change my life:

❌ AI tools
❌ Crypto
❌ Working at a startup
❌ Reading a book per week

Things that did change my life:

✅ Sleeping 8 hours a night
✅ Traveling to new places
✅ Starting my own business
✅ Owning a rice cooker

Don't worry about missing out on the current trend.

I hath finally gazed upon the iCalendar file format. And I have found it wanting.

This is why we can't have nice things 🤦‍♀️

Wait… is using a reverse proxy not a valid backend-for-frontend design? That was the only thing that made sense to me 😭
i forgot to mention one big thing: if i proxy requests to the PDS, AppViews only gets to see my PDS' IP address (with some headers mixed in ofc)

IMO proxy > BFF, not even a competition
i still think atproto oauth legitimizing backend-for-frontend is a mistake and makes it easy to spin up services that are actively hostile to independent clients and appviews being spun up

And for my next trick, I’m going to take this (*gestures to “product”*) and make it fit through this (*points to “market”*).

Now can someone hand me that sledge hammer?

Realized I hit 13 followers and am way more excited about it than I should be haha. Somehow feels more real than having hundreds on Twitter / X 🤷‍♀️

Is there a good website or resource for seeing performance / $ per hour for cloud VMs? I recently had to do a bit of research and was shocked I couldn’t find anywhere that had this info for any single cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Why are more people not talking about AWS EC2 instance perf differences?! I still see t2’s in prod sometimes and somehow c7a.2xlarge’s have a GeekBench score 10,000?!
