I woke up this morning to discover that Facebook's algorithm had determined I'd committed some offence against their (not very clear) community standards. I protested and, to my surprise, with a couple of hours my account was reinstated. They never did say what triggered my expulsion.

France at the UN Security Council:

"The military operation which led to the capture of Nicolas Maduro runs counter to the principle of peaceful dispute resolution and the principle of non use of force. Violations of the UN Charter... chips away at the very foundation of the international order."

I’m running for Congress in NY-12, my home.

We have a demented, criminal president running the country like a mob operation—government by the boss, for the boss.

We need Democratic fighters who will defend the rule of law and deliver government by the people. Join us.

My uncle Albert MacNeil -certified ANTIFA.
Fought fascists in Sicily, broke the Hitler line in Italy, helped the liberation of Holland. Albert was a Cape Breton miner.
He told young recruits their most valuable weapon was a shovel. Dig deep and find safe ground or you won't last.
A practical man.

Alberta’s Bill 11 threatens universal public healthcare across Canada. It replaces universal care with a two-tier system. This means longer waits, higher costs for everyone, and weaker public healthcare.

The federal government must act. notwotier.ca/canadahealth...

URGENT: Stop Two Tier Care. Prime Minister Mark Carney Must Act Now.

In 1921, the German Supreme Court had some things to say about killing unarmed people at sea.

They called it a war crime.

The case involved a German submarine that shelled lifeboats from a Canadian hospital ship it had just sunk in WW1.

This is Canada, NOT the USA. We are supposed to have health care for all - universal medicare. Get rid of Smith.
ALBERTA: Bill 11 raises healthcare costs for everyone by introducing two-tier care ⚠️.

Families pay more out of pocket. Public wait times grow. Doctors move to elite private clinics for the rich. The public system gets weaker.

For some reason (mental overload perhaps?) I totally forgot about this platform for a wee while. As a result, I spent a lot of time this morning scrolling, reading and catching up.

I managed to avoid most of the uber-depressing news from south of the 49th parallel.

WTF????? So wrong!
Charlie Kirk's death was a tragedy.
But he built his name on provocation and white supremacy.
He said that gun deaths of innocents was "worth it."
On Mark Carney's first day as PM in Parliament Liberals gave Kirk a standing ovation.
Ceding ground to extremism won't make them nicer.

It seems that even here in Canada, politicians (regardless of party affiliation) are subjected to verbal abuse and the ongoing threats of personal harm. That is SO wrong. They deserve to know what the security threat status is.
I spoke many times with Catherine McKenna about the failure of the RCMP/Parliamentary Security to address rising levels of threat.
Homes were outfitted with security cameras but little was done to track online threats.
Good people gave up on serving the public.

Autumn is my favourite season of the year. The cool, crisp mornings of September and October, followed by warm(ish) afternoons as the sun's strength ebbs. The brightly coloured red, orange and yellow leaves on assorted hardwood trees make me smile. It's a great time to get outdoors.
