My book is about the Llandovery Castle, a Canadian hospital ship sunk by a German sub in 1918

A court ruling about the attack forever changed war crimes prosecutions.

Something I wrote last year:

"Soldiers don’t have to obey 'palpably criminal' orders ... stated the prosecutor, U.S. Brigadier General Telford Taylor, at the 1947 Einsatzgruppen trial."

Opinion: A little-known Canadian wartime tragedy left a lasting mark on international law
Toward the end of the First World War, the unarmed hospital ship Llandovery Castle was heading to England to pick up wounded servicemen. That’s when German torpedoes struck
