People make the argument that this was the site of the Jewish Temple.

However, it’s important to note that the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans.

The Muslims built the mosque on the site when NOTHING existed.

It’s the same “3000 years ago” argument and “so it’s ours and we’re taking.”

Systemic underreporting: The true scale of the issue is difficult to determine because sexual violence and exploitation are vastly underreported in conservative, conflict-ridden settings due to fear of stigma and retaliation. A local women's affairs center reported a dramatic increase in these cases compared to pre-war levels

The solicitations for sexual interactions ranged from blatant demands like to more culturally coded requests like "I want to marry you".

Some of the men accused of exploitation were identified by women as IDF, aid workers, military contractors, and or community leaders working with aid agencies. In one case, a man promising a job to a mother of six drove a car with U.N. markings.
