I think all legal minds involved have the first thought "this will set a precedent." But not for the same reasons.

It was just an opinion based on trump always slipping out of being held responsible. It isn't logical to hold popehat responsible for what took over 40 years to happen. It is quite reasonable to not believe it until you see it after that long. It doesn't mean he didn't WANT it.
