I have said before and will say again that it is such a loss that we no longer get covers of this caliber for fantasy books.

This art is by Jean-Léon Huens. These covers are for the Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. They lit my imagination on fire as a kid.

Got way more done today than I planned. Crossing fingers these come out of the bisque looking as good as they do now.

So much artistic awe is looking at someone else’s work and thinking: “wow, I couldn’t do *this*” as you marvel at their choices. The appeal of AI art is that you get the same feeling but without the “wow.” It’s more like “I couldn’t do this, and I wouldn’t, and it doesn’t make any sense.”

I made so many of these tea light tea cups and I thought they were so smart and cute but I just did a whole weekend sale and no one even said they were adorable, can you believe it?

Watching Severance for the first time and I’m partway through season two and goddamn, WHERE IS THE BABY? I don’t mean that one time the baby was missing I mean every time Devon is staying up overnight watching over Mark and having urgent, time-sensitive conversations, WHERE IS THE BABY?

Serious question: how horny is this emoji? 😈
I use it all the time and it’s my favourite. On a scale from 1-10 how likely is it that it’s being interpreted hornily?

I always take pictures of projects before the bisque firing but fail to post them because they’re not “done”… and then by the time everything’s finished I’m over looking at pictures of them! Like, if u want to see them, go look at them in the world, the picture isn’t the thing anymore 🙃

It’s been literal years since I read a science fiction/fantasy SERIES (at least, reading multiple books in quick succession, not years apart, as they’re released) and it’s such a potent reminder of what a durational medium books are.

You can go to the studio until midnight and drink a whole pot of decaf *any time* but it feels especially good when your partner’s out of town. BACHELOR MODE, BAYBEE

Anyone who has ever got delivery via bike should fight for safe lanes & infrastructure as a moral imperative. (Would love to see how many anti bike lane people also enjoy delivery)
Delivery people should be able to charge a weather surcharge. I think if you want someone to ride a bike through rain to bring you food you should have to pay through the nose for it.

One bright side to being forced to live in an AI slop tornado is now I see my artistic mistakes as incredibly endearing. The human machine of my body made that weird line. My worst day of drawing is completely untouchably better than anything AI will ever produce until the heat death of the universe

For $100, you can hire me to enforce an imaginary deadline. I will send you increasingly urgent reminder emails as your deadline approaches, pressuring you not to let me down. I am serious. I will do this. For $100.

My partner always makes fun of me for opening the pot of rice to check on it. It’s my fatal flaw: I have to look at the rice.

Is there something you do regularly with other people that informs how you operate as a creative person? Every co-working or study group I've ever been a part of has petered out eventually, but I know knitters meetups that have been running for decades.
