Around 30 whistles printed and packaged up with Reporting info cards, ready for distribution.

Guess I should always trust wife.

Not a great picture, but not mold. I think I’m going to rig / 3D print something to hold the iPhone along the right axis

I'm tired of feeling helpless, so here's a first pass of a project I've been working on: trying out different 3D-printed whistles to distribute along with informational cards (front and back shown)

Came across a bad joke: What do you get when you cross Cookie Monster with Cthulhu?

I’m generally against AI-generated images, but I needed to visualize it:

Wife has been using the 3D printer at the makerspace a lot. Finally broke down and got one for home.

Meet my Hippo of Disapproval.

Its role will be to sit on my desk and unsuccessfully prod me into being productive.

Refilling the water reservoir for the NICU coffee maker this morning — mystified by the .XAM label.

Yes, I really need this coffee badly.

Pre-alpha public release of Kitten Space Agency!!!

I played a bit of KSP and was disappointed by KSP 2.

KSA is looking GREAT after very little time, and the devs seem to have their hearts in absolutely the right place — I’ll be making a contribution to support them!

Well, at least it’s better than very similar graphics, but where the cogs are closer together and therefore completely locked up and unable to turn.

Like this one. My question is whether it’s actually meant as an accurate representation of their school system…?

The reason I provided to them was: "There are consequences to Disney being unwilling to do what is right."

I might not like using AI to replace thinking.

But maybe I can forgive a little, because thanks to ChatGPT, I have this gem.

Boys with Noonan Syndrome at the 97%ile for BMI will collapse into a singularity at ~17.5 years age. It's very sad.

In other news, learned in 2 days how to use #Rlang #quarto-preprint with #typst to submit a report on corrected LMS growth curve parameters to #MedRxiv doi:10.1101/2025.07.29.25332354

Beautiful day out so went on a mini-hike post-call and combined it with logging my first geocache in a year or two.

Should get back into geocaching, if only as an excuse to explore cool places I would not have thought of to go to otherwise.

Drove to a local airfield which has a well-regarded breakfast / lunch restaurant.

The French toast was out of this world.

Have done touch-and-goes there and used it for a XC checkpoint, but never “been” there.

Someday I hope to spend $400 to fly there to get the same food.

Who ever selected and arranged the images for Harvard Magazine wasn’t really thinking about how they looked together.
