Are you fucking serious? It’s absolutely one and the same. Trump deciding which cable companies can merge means he can decide what cable content is presented to the public. Are you living under a rock? CBS? Bari Weiss? It’s billions of dollars on the line.

If you don’t think Trump has major influence over the mergers that are happening with cable companies then you’re not paying attention. The FCC under Carr can and will do whatever the fuck it wants, past precedence be damned.

The FCC under Trump is *absolutely* regulating cable. As it now says on
the official website, the FCC is not an independent agency but officially part of the executive branch and will do whatever Trump wants. I’m surprised you don’t understand that whatever rules applied in the past no longer apply.

lol except they just changed the FCC description on the White House website from being an independent agency to being an arm of the executive. Pretty sure a Dem POTUS could use that change as a reason to regulate FOX as they see fit.

Yeah exactly. If a Dem POTUS used the FCC to, for instance, sanction or punish Fox News for pushing lies I’d be both shocked and elated.

It’s definitely a cult. We can debate on what/who led us to this moment all day long, but pretending that people who have their entire identity tied to one man are born out of merely a different political opinion misses the mark. They have shown again and again that they will literally die for him.
