To anyone with a full time job and normal human contact, this whole thing just looks incredibly weird and sad. These games are toys, and there's 30+ year old men getting mad that someone doesn't like the same toy as them. It's pathetic, and god it just makes me embarrassed to be associated.

Some people are weirdly territorial about what games "are" OSR. It has the same sad "I'm actually a 12 year old" vibe as people who take "gamer" as some kind of honorific title of achievement.
