History, folklore, genealogy, cemetery art, ghost stories, music. Former governmental affairs; I know where the skeletons are buried. Raised in a funeral home so there’s that. Fifth generation Hoosier with a side of Kentuckian. Anti-maga, pro Democrat
Last one is Robert Wagner. He may be standing outside a federal court building.

So if anyone has information on the one guy in all these photos, please let me know. #louisville #kentucky #kentuckyderby

Then comes the Newmans, Paul and Joanne Woodward.

Here he is with Carroll O’Connor. I think the photo of Jimmy Stewart and the other guy (can’t remember that dudes name, comedian I think) was taken at the same event.

Here’s the same guy with Tony Bennett.

And with Ike Eisenhower.

Same unidentified man appears in these photos. I have no idea who he is and attempted to figure it out. If anyone recognizes this guy, let me know.

Here he is with Bobby Darin (Darin had a concert in Louisville in the 60s,suppose that’s when it was taken)

These also may be Derby related.

So I kept digging. Lo and behold, there’s Wallace Simpson and the former King of England. But the former King was half cut from the picture (so much for being a former king, huh?). Wallace was the attraction here.

I collect odd, vintage photographs so I’m always looking through boxes of them in antique shops. Going through a huge box of photos in Louisville, I pulled this one, looked at it and said, that’s Rose Kennedy?!, what she doing here in this box??

Working on a big sewing project so I got my machine out and found what I was working on when I put it up. A practice piece of art quilting I was playing with. Drawn on muslim, hand painted ink watercolor, free-hand quilted. Checked on color fastness (no color loss on washing).

This is a video I took down in Crawford Co of what they’ve done. I’m glad he’s put his name behind this effort to stop it. Fun trivia: Johnny Cougar’s band played my 9th grade May mixer dance. It was right before his big record contract.

Happy Thanksgiving!! I’m posting a pic that was taken at the cabin. I call it The One Who Got Away. We have a turkey barn not far from the cabin. And when they load up the turkeys, there are always a couple who get away.

Odd phenom with a sun beam shining down where the turkey stood.

You sent me down a turkey rabbit hole. There’s lots of turkey barns in Crawford and Dubois Co, most owned by Perdue (arrangements w/farmers). IN used to be third in production, now maybe 4th (if we can believe ai, but assume they have ag data sucked in)

Today I got on the two wastewater surveillance sites in Indiana to see what’s floating around before the holidays. Carmel and Bloomington. Looks like Norovirus is the prevalent bug. Flu and covid seems low right now.

First year post-legalization in Ohio, let’s take a look at the numbers. Sales totals for first year: recreational brought in $700M; medical/recreational combined brought in $3B. 36% of these revenues goes to cities and townships.

Our governor’s bright idea: toll the interstates to get $2B per yr

Oh snap, what I wouldn’t give for a little more of this (blurb from audiobook). I’m not as interested in his boss era, but it’s got me curious to see how it ends. Thank you!!

Finished the miniseries on James Garfield last night, Death by Lightning,
on Netflix (very good). I never knew anything about him but once visited Lakeview Cem in Cleveland where he is buried. I was shocked at the size and grandeur of his memorial.

They view these datacenters as a utility, like phones, electric and gas. This is an important understanding, that’s one of the ways they are selling it to lawmakers.

This dude’s example of what data should be stored on each and every one of us from birth to grave.
