it's all perspective, my meteorology 101 professor who chases tornadoes, regularly, called the people who fly planes into hurricanes to collect data insane, too

On the other hand, Canada is fucking racist as shit and has been using America as a buffer to keep Latin American asylum seekers out of their country, so their politicians have a very vested interest in never admitting that the US isn't a safe third country anymore, even if it means watching us burn

Which, to be frank, is kind of gray area for Canada. On the one hand, Canada has had a massive brain drain lately and they might get more than just their original talent back if they manage to change course and stay safer than the US.

Canada is the closest country for most of us that would still possibly have open borders (on our side) in a shtf scenario (look if Trump closes Mexico's border, that means Americans can't go to Mexico either) but ignoring all border laws by far the funniest country to flee to would be Cuba

That said, when this blows over, I hope not just us Americans who want to flee but can't, but people around the world remember this feeling, of knowing what's coming and being unable to do anything about it. Maybe we'll all be a bit kinder to refugees and asylum seekers in the future.

That's what I want to know. People from other countries are telling us to get out early but if you can't get a work visa, right now any American claiming asylum is going to be laughed off. We can't run, all we can do is fight.

Remember, the only correct response to a Nazi salute is a closed fist, thumb on the outside or you'll break your hand.

And we're not making these very public Nazis lives miserable because...?

One thing I've found out in today's fractured internet is that RSS is a godsend.
If you're an artist, a blogger or a news source, and you have an RSS feed where I can always check what you're up to, you're doing the lord's work.

Like, watching the movie The Hunger Games doesn't count as reading the book The Hunger Games because it is not a carbon copy of the words as written by Suzanne Collins. The audiobook, however, is virtually indistinguishable from the written book. The only thing that changed is the action you take.

I mean, the end result is the same. You've experienced the same story, word for word, as the written book. But the physical action you are taking is listening. You listened to the book, which is completely normal and fine, even necessary for accessibility, but it's still listening?
