We're back! We've teamed up with @cyclinguk.bsky.social for a Glow Ride on Friday 24th October. Like us, they want to see more women cycling, and for councils to provide more safe infrastructure to enable that.
Light up your bike with lights and sparkle and join us at Middle Meadow Walk at 7.30pm.

After last week's Supreme Court ruling we want to be clear that we welcome & support all women and girls. Trans & non-binary people are as important to us as biological women & are a valued part of our crew.
We remain welcome to allies from any sex, gender or background.

It looks as though the UN have chosen a different theme for their recognition of the day. Both are admirable and valid, but we're using the IWD theme.
infrasisters.bsky.social
The IWD 2025 campaign theme is 'Accelerate Action'. We ask planners to build infrastructure that's safe & comfortable for women & girls. Many groups have ridden, campaigned, and yet Edinburgh hasn't seen the change it needs as a city to thrive. How can we accelerate action?

If you're wondering how to decorate your bike to make your presence felt in the middle of the day, we suggest using your noodle. Specifically, your pool noodle. The legal distance when overtaking a cyclist is 1.5m...

Noodles are optionsl; we'd love to see you regardless.
infrasisters.bsky.social
This year for #IWD2025 we're doing something a little different. A lunchtime pop-up "safe space" ride around the city centre on Monday 10th March. We'll start outside the City of Edinburgh Council's offices at Waverley Court on East Market Street at 12:30. Bring your noodles!
A woman in a blue hi viz vest on a bike. The bike has two pool noodles pointing out from the right side bearing signs saying For A Life Thanks Please Leave Space. The legal minimum distance for a vehicle to give a cyclist is 1.5m, the length of the noodles.

Out with the @infrasisters.bsky.social last night, campaigning for better cycle infrastructure for women. Riding along Grassmarket, conscious that we first passed the place where a cyclist was choked by an angry motorist, then the narrow crowded pavements where a pedestrian was killed by a coach.
A group of brightly lit cyclists waiting at a red light in a city junction. A group of cyclists decorated in fairy lights heading along a wide path lined with trees. A brightly lit fairground with a big wheel and sky ride in a city centre.

Riding in solidarity for my wife, as she is away for the weekend. I hate when she comes home and gives me gory details of near misses with buses, male arseholes giving her grief and the general shitness of it all in Edinburgh. I don’t want my boys, or me to lose an amazing, beautiful mother & wife.❤️

Andy's photos are always brilliant. Thank you so much for coming along and taking the photos.

Inspiring evening with the amazing @infrasisters.bsky.social who took brilliant care of everyone. 👏👏👏
Forrest Rd, Cowgate rammed with cars, panzers, trucks. Massive disincentive for so many people wanting to ride in the city, especially women and children. We need to do better and faster.

Dr Grace, we all would!
We campaign in Edinburgh specifically for that: infrastructure that's safe for women and girls, day or night. Our next protest ride is tonight.
