Where are the one-row evs? For people who don't have big families & dogs; who have more disposable income and a smaller environmental footprint.

I think the 'everything electric' youtube channels are good, especially for, but not exclusivly, uk audiences

Depends on local circumstance and social costing
Solar roofs on platforms and car parks connected to micro-grid with battery storage (inc. parked vehicles) should provide reliability, ease of instalation, less load on national grid, scaleabilty, & local benifits (rainwater havesting-suds, co-ops...)

Can you create a peat bog? Or save one from being destroyed?
January 31, 2026 at 1:23 PM
Integrating into a neighbourhood vehicle-to-grid network would be good as there will be a predictable load-charge cycle, eg station car park car chargers and solar station roof

Hot-swapping with it's mechanical complexities (cf mobile phones no longer have removable batteries) is not needed as they have a very fast (3 minute) charging 'dock'.

Already happening

As others have said, limited electrification outside south-east england.
Also avoids visual clutter of overhead gantries, or saftey issues around 3rd rail
January 31, 2026 at 11:54 AM
most lines in and around london are electrified, unlike most of the gwr network.
So the main use for battery electric trains will be anywhere but london; especially those little branch lines like st erth - st ives.

Is there anything else happening that doesn't somehow link to the environment?

The last article by the bbc 'climate editor' was back in October, and then only about uk energy bills, not climate

Hunter-gathers had more leisure, greater longevity, more independance
Settlments could accrue more stuff, raise more children, disconnect from environmental limits needing more aggresive expansion and a ruling and 'warior' class and taxes ... more rules lawyers and accountants ...

I like my nice warm house & well stocked supermarket; but there is a narative of the 'savage' civilised by europeans; and conversly the caveman hunting mammoth that needs to be challenged (some tribes have unhealthy cultures like tobacco use)
January 9, 2026 at 9:08 PM
Early agriculturists lowered life expectancy and increased inequalities. Living in the same place in polluted cities meant europeans developed diseases and methods of warfare unknown in less 'civilised' societies, which helped destroy indigenous societies.

I don't get 'paleo' (meat fantasists) either, but have talked with ethnobotanists who work with hunter-gatherers over last 60 years - they can get the food they need easier than 'civilised' work people and can be healthier, with more leisure time

At least you didn't see anything of the previous tv schedule - nauseating planet polluting lifestyle promotion with farage look-alikes.
Turned off and risked missing the start of gpt.
