Don’t go to the US.

Don’t go for furry cons, don’t go for vacation, don’t even go if you’re an expat with citizenship.

It is an authoritarian state and it will do everything in its power to harm you.
NEW: Five years of social media history is only a fraction of what the US Government will shortly demand of overseas visitors.

The full requirements will end tourism in the United States.

Below is the full, mind-blowing list.

Hot take:

The ability to vote should be solely based on 2 developmental milestones: the ability to lie to an authority figure and the ability to identify a lie.

Sometimes I fucking hate being autistic. I just had another friendship completely blow up on me because we were having two different conversations, and I didn't know it. I feel like I should just avoid talking to people. 😭

I wish this was real. 😭

Does anyone else have this communication problem?

1) I think of something I'd like.
2) I determine my boundaries around that thing.
3) I express my boundaries, allowing the other person to determine what they would like within those boundaries.
4) They try to figure out what I "actually" wanted.

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Thought of the night:
My hatred of you has no bounds and never ends.

Whenever someone asks me what I want as a gift, my answer is always the same: you. I don't care where we are or what we do. I just enjoy having company.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If software engineers were required to take an ethics course as part of their degrees/training, several companies and industries would collapse overnight.

The POTUS has always had enormous authoritarian power through the military. Any president could easily order the military to seize excess food stores and make sure everyone has enough to eat. Any president could easily order the military to build excess public housing. 1/2

Nudes that someone is okay with you seeing? Meh.

Nudes that someone actively wants you, specifically, to see? Hot! 🥵

we wouldn't need "fast travel" if our game studios invested in accessible and affordable public transport infrastructure. skyrim should have a tram network. assassin's creed should have several regular bus routes. give ghost of tsushima a metro

And just like that, Trump has ordered the first concentration camp to be built on Guantánamo Bay.

The USA is a perfect example of how important the pillar of education is to democracies. It's been less than a century since WW2, and we are already repeating history, step by step.

Just finished my first set of grammer rules for SJ. I changed the declaration of types and classes to make them more identifiable and decided on a multi-pass parser for context processing.

I'd like to keep my "operators are identifiers for functions" syntax rule, but it's causing a lot of ambiguity. For example, the expression "a b c" can be interpreted as "a.b(c)" or "a.b().c()". To know which us which, you need to know the type of a, which the parser doesn't know.

Currently, SJ identifiers accept all UTF-8 characters except the following:
{ } . ( ) " space \t \r \n \0

That means 😂 is a valid identifier.

How unusual would it be for classes to not be constructable by default? Only allowing them to be constructable when a constructor is specified or inherited?

I'm building a new programming language called SJ (short for simple java), just for fun. It focuses on making multithreading simpler by removing race conditions by design. It also only uses symbols as keywords to make the compiler work with any language.
