So murder should be constitutional? Bombings, displacement, starvation, trauma? I’m assuming he’s planning on standing on the frontlines of this war, or is he expecting others to fight for him (and why would they).

There were protests earlier this year (and there should be more).

I would love to know what she believes constitutes American culture, and how the “foreign born” today differ from the foreign born from say, prior to 1850. Or 1910 (last big migration surge). Does she really believe American culture is homogenous and immutable? Or is this another yellow peril?

She knows the Nat-C’s don’t see her as white, right? Why is she carrying water for them and encouraging the kinds of racist xenophobic discourse that would have left her family in Iraq to be persecuted. Does she think she’s a special case?

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, to leave the whole world blind and toothless.

Agreed! And sometimes it pays to counter bad faith arguments for other people, too (not necessarily because you expect to change their mind). And sometime calling out logical fallacies and other techniques people use to offer those arguments is helpful.

Call me crazy, but what is so different from recent migrants and refugees coming here and his family escaping pogroms and a holocaust instigated by people using the selfsame rhetoric he seems so comfortable with himself?

What an amazingly ignorant thing for them to say. We’ve relied heavily during long term military actions on locals to work as translators, cooks, cleaners, advocates, militia, you name it. These people put their life on the line for the U.S.

The certainly don’t want anyone being exposed to any ideas that don’t toe the white Christian nationalist line.

She’s a science reporter in the same sense that RFK is a health expert. She has an angle that gets her attention and doesn’t require depth of knowledge or any sense of nuance. And it gets published in the NYT. She won’t change until she has to.

Is it wrong to be concerned that this guy seems more concerned about how people dress than how well our transportation systems run? Is that crazy?

Absolutely, I’m just pointing out that reminding service members to not do the thing they’ve already sworn not to do isn’t illegal or treasonous. This is a manufactured complaint. It’s their standard operating procedure, mischaracterizing and blowing things out of proportion to energize their base.

I get that they really don’t care about the law other than as a means to bludgeon others and don’t even care if the statutes they cite are relevant, but telling people they have a duty not to follow unlawful orders is none of those things. Isnt it literally a part of the USCMJ?
