Birds, dogs, animals, oh my! Shy fishing fiend and upland photographer.

I take photos of anything that catches my eye. I love sharing the beauty in the world.

All photographs posted are my own work.
It's been soggy and wet for so long. I'm actually hoping for snow. Tiny white mushroom among so many others today.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted. During that G4 storm last week, I managed to capture the tiniest meteor. The sky was mostly pink. It wasn't as strong as I had anticipated. So much light pollution near my house. WTB Bortle 1.

More from my wandering. I believe this is a red tailed hawk. You can see the enormous power lines that transport our hydro power from Wells Dam. Confusing perspective to be above the birds.

I love my sad fenceposts. This one was perched along the edge of a steep drop-off. I felt like I was on top of the world.

Spent a long time up in the middle of nowhere this weekend to decompress. So much wildlife (big and small)! Love how this fluffy little bumblebee is covered in pollen.

I ❤️ pollinators!

Went outside to take photos of some pretty clouds the other evening and ran into my barn swallow buddy. Happy little accidents as Bob Ross would say. His four babies have already fledged, but he's still here for the rest of summer.

Chelan Falls, WA.So hard to say goodbye to the river. Today is my last day fishing summer salmon season.

Was able to stock up on enough sockeye until next season. Upper Columbia salmon season was tough this year. If you fished it this year, how'd you do?

Wells Dam, WA. You can find this dam along the Columbia River near Chelan. The tall doorway to the right is a fish ladder. There's one ladder on each side of the dam. Salmon and other fish use them to swim upstream past our dams and toward spawning grounds.

I was doing so well taking pictures every week. Then salmon season started. I'm still alive! I just smell really bad, and I think I've still got fish guts in my hair. Rocking the pink coon shrimp manicure, too! But it's worth it to eat fish that I catch and knowing my catch was cared for.

Sometimes you get a great view from a parking lot. Was a warm, windy summer day.

My angry tenants mean mugging me. 😭 I just want to use my front door. Barn swallows that are nesting in the eaves of my house. The light was fading fast.

Been MIA. Salmon season is coming and I've been neck deep in boat upgrades and leader tying. So much more to do!

I debated long and hard about sharing this one. I thought about keeping it to myself because it's one of my personal favorites. I took this two months ago. Bufflehead drake mid flight at a favorite lake.

Had a rare chance to make it out to the west side of the state today. Beautiful clouds and lush greens of spring everywhere. It rained so much. The air has its own distinct scent out here.

Some days you get lucky and the birds are just right in front of you. Hopped out of the car and bam. Rooster pheasant chilling in a field of sage and low grass.

MS Paint quality photo (blurry). Hitting up the trout openers, and spotted this guy. Sentry bird on top of a rise. Chukar! Didn't have my camera, it was a long poke from pretty far away.

Grebes! I caught this pair of western grebes dancing last week. Just snoozing this week. Loving their color.

Let's play a game called find the screaming rooster pheasant (1st pic). There were three nearby, yelling at each other like angry taxi drivers up on the hill. Probably 2+ years old and mature. 2nd pic might be grainy from intense zoom.

Swallows are so graceful. I watched them for over an hour as they hunted for insects. Barn Swallows eat an enormous amount of bugs. They're also feisty! Be cautious around their nests. I've been dive bombed a bit today.

Vantage Bridge, WA. Taken at Wild Horse Monument above the Columbia River. The monument is a great place to get some eagle eye views. Scary windy to be up high that day.

Almost forgot about the "pink" moon last night! Actually pulled out the tripod due to high wind. 6 stacked frames (600mm, ISO800, f/6.3, 1/800). I have no idea what I'm doing 😅!

I don't see many of these for some reason, but they're cute as heck! Pied-Billed Grebe pair. Interesting bird fact: grebes aren't technically "ducks" or "waterfowl." They're "diving birds" and "water birds" that belong to a different family (Podicipedidae).

More of this beautiful Ring-Necked drake. When he saw me approach, it was almost a, "You again, lady?!" moment.

Feeling rough today and hoping that what I share brings some joy to others.

Ring-Necked Duck. The light playing on the water is what caught my eye.
