Also I think they do manage it on a map of this scale- because that’s how I feel about it. Most rooms in the game are immediately recognizable to me at this point, but I *do* have a lot of time in the game.

I think TC designs have friction that’s there to make the world feel real but some ppl hate

How many movement upgrades do you have?

And might be a you thing that traversal doesn’t feel very rewarding on its own- a lot of people (me included) love how it feels to move in the game. Alpharad did his first playthrough last month and he was constantly raving about the controls

There’s a dream nail upgrade (which wasn’t there at launch) which helps some- but I think the space between fast travel points and how they aren’t in the most convenient places is how you get to know the world so well- after enough time you can navigate without a map because you know all the rooms

I remember Folding Ideas complaining about this too- I think something that Team Cherry does is place things where they make sense for the world- whether or not they make sense for content. It’s frustrating at times, but I think the long walks and the like is intentional and why it feels so alive

Oh god I remember the crisis that I’m guessing inspired this- you handled it wonderfully, and I’m happy at how many bigots got rooted out of the Godot community during that :)

Sometimes I’m like “but I could do so much with a custom engine why haven’t I done that instead of using Godot” and then I spend an hour in Godot and have a polished project with a few dozen options, clean UI, and extensible code that just *works* and I’m like “oh right that’s why”
