Yeah that happens. I’m currently trying to compile an old version of GNOME on a new version of Ubuntu for plugin compatibility reasons and I’m fine with that. Linux does strange things to your mind

Better idea: simple format where it outputs the bounding boxes and titles and then creating a VLC plugin or smth which interprets that and applies a blur filter
Or maybe just seeing what happens when you run a video through a BPS patcher or some other binary differ
