And who has the most accurate descriptor of many leaders, right here, at 27 mins. and following. Who knows that when we disempower masses of people they choose liars and gross abusers of human rights, and take us all down.

Difficult conversations and non-avoidant strategies need to be taught and learned as a pre-requisite to leadership. Look at this photo, same article! Guns hide cowardly and insecure leadership. Real security is learned more than earned.

A plutocrat-SEC guys secretly wroting banking regs, mastering their bailout. Like the power hegemony of AB gov + O&G to control outcomes and bypass the electorate. Ea player blind to the whole play. New plastic stamp: In THE NATIONAL INTEREST. @heathermcpherson.bsky.social @naheednenshi.bsky.social

No one likes expensive utilities, worse: cancer, lung disease, heart and stroke disease, miscarriages, . . . Call your MP and PM! Once we have the regulations, it becomes easy to follow them. @coreyhogan.ca It needn't be difficult! @climatemamaclaire.bsky.social cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thu...

Sometimes it's time to change denominations, even if you are an Albertan. Can you imagine the UCP stepping up to forgive and/or pay unpaid residential property taxes? No? The O&G industry can! Info below is via @ryanjespersen.bsky.social @abresistance.bsky.social @www.thegravitywell.net

No drilling and dashing on my dime! All in 🇨🇦 want a safe environment and are sick of the ways we subsidize the richest so that they collect more wealth for themselves. Have your say here →https://nwmd.social/s/copylink/4A-EaUyLeuDGy7KFmu0=/b #ableg @naheednenshi.bsky.social

#genocide brings suffering and erodes our collective humanity no matter how distant we think we are.

Don't assume that 🇨🇦's independence from major US markets is a bad thing. Local solutions are often connected with more clean air and water, health, and altogether less costly. The choices belong to us. #cdnpoli @catherinecullen.bsky.social @markusoff.bsky.social @anthropocenempg.bsky.social

Where there is confusion, inconsistency, power differential--eg cultural popularity, winner status, being part of a gang/group/team/club, physical strength, and presence/absence of clothing, consent is questionable if not absent. Judges rule on legal process not consent. @ianhanomansing.bsky.social

Don't think about cutting down this tree! Calgary's canopy is worth $6.9 billion and an additional $2.5 billion in service! @calgaryclimatehub.ca @naheednenshi.bsky.social @cape-ab.bsky.social This one could equate to 4 A/Cs running full time!

Why #yyccc #ableg needs to be more aware of water and "climate emergency." @naheednenshi.bsky.social @drluannemetz.bsky.social Think about what is in water when erosion pulls plants & pesticides into rivers and low reservoirs. @cape-ab.bsky.social @anthropocenempg.bsky.social

Right on. Here's the current picture trees. #yyccc a laggard. We are NOT the best city. Every time I hear that, I'm embarrassed.

Well, well. Calgary's tree coverage is 8.25%. Ottawa's is 46%, Halifax, 43%, Toronto 28% and aiming for 40%. @cityofcalgarygolf.bsky.social states it aims to double to 16%.

Calgary aims for 16% tree coverage. But "A modelling study last year suggested that increasing city tree cover to 30%, from a European city average of around 14%, could have cut deaths attributable to heat by a third." @calgaryclimatehub.ca www.weforum.org/stories/2024...
